Nvidia Graphics Card Owners Get Access to Share Beta

Nvidia’s GeForce Experience has just been updated with its newest feature, the Share Beta. PC gamers running Nvidia GTX 650’s or later graphics cards can now add the Share Beta to their GeForce Experience software. This application already allows users to automatically optimize their in-game settings to provide the smoothest possible gameplay, and gives them access to ShadowPlay, which can record video in the background or be used to stream footage to Twitch. With the addition of the Share Beta, GeForce Experience gets a pretty new in-game overlay and the ability to give the controls of a game over to a friend in another location, or play with them cooperatively.

Check out Nvidia’s Rundown of the new features in this video.

Pretty neat, right?

The remote-player does not need an Nvidia graphics card to able to play, as the gameplay is streamed via web browser, but the person hosting the game will need considerably high internet speeds to be able to maintain the stream. Nvidia recommends a minimum upload speed of 7 Mbps, which will be higher than many internet services can handle. At this upload speed, gameplay will output in 720p at 30 frames-per-second. Some may wonder why 1080p at 60 frames-per-second is not yet available, but to do so would require speeds of around 30 Mbps, which very few internet packages are able to consistently upload, let alone download.

Nvidia card owners should be very pleased with this update to the already handy capabilities of GeForce Experience. The addition of the Share Beta features gives Nvidia graphics cards an even stronger case against rival AMD graphics cards, and could very well sway future PC-builders in their favor.
