Wireframing for rapid development

Wireframing is a very important part of the development process. In the same way that coding immediately without planning steps leads to spaghetti code, developing something without first making a wireframe can lead to a horrible design and bad user experience.

Creating a wireframe while working alone can allow you to first plan out a design and then worry about the code later. Wireframing when working with a team is even better, it can allow your vision to be shown to others without having to code your whole idea. Also, user testing can be done with interactive wireframes which can save a lot of headache if there are things that need to be changed.

There are many great tools out there for wireframing. A super quick and easy website for basic wireframes is https://wireframe.cc/

While it may lack some features that other tools include, wireframe.cc is very simple to use and easy to get up and running. This website would be best for fleshing out basic ideas or showing something to someone very quickly.

A more full-featured resource used by some big companies is invision, which can be found here: http://www.invisionapp.com/

Invision is fully featured and offers great tools for collaborating with others. It allows people to add comments about the design and tracks changes made. This can be great for version control and trying new things.

There are many other apps out there that can help with wireframing. Depending on your needs, you may prefer a certain one. The important thing is that you incorporate wireframing into your development process.
