In the recent news of the tragic attacks in Paris, many were left concerned for their loved one’s well-being. Who ever would have guessed that a popular social media website could bring them the relief that they needed? Facebook recently introduced a “safety check” that allowed users living in the nearby areas of the attacks to simply click that they were okay and thus alerting their friends virtually of their wellbeing.

With such a positive response, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg told NBC that his company plans to implement more of these safety tools in the future.
